Beenie Man and Janet Jackson team up on 'Feel it, boy'

The marriage of reggae, R&B and pop has enjoyed tremendous success as of late with the collaborations of No Doubt and Bounty Killer the latest to enjoy the limelight. Now the current King of dancehall meets the current queen of pop and R&B as Beenie Man (whose given name is Moses Davis) and Janet Jackson collaborate on his latest release 'Feel it boy' taken from his forthcoming album 'Tropical Storm' on Virgin Records

Co-written and produced by

Whitney's new single is leaked before press time

Someone's been naughty in New York's radio circuit. Whitney Houston's new single, 'Whatcha Lookin' At'  was leaked and played on radio stations across the Big Apple last Wednesday (July 10). Calls were made to Houston's label Arista Records to find out who might have leaked the track but they were not returned.

The song which was co-written by Andre Lewis and Jerry Mohammed,  will appear on her yet-to-be-titled new release, tentatively due out September 17.  Notable producers in collaboration with Houston on the new collection include Babyface and Dallas Austin.

Although Whitney has enjoyed a very successful recording career, industry insiders believe she needs a hit record to recapture her past glory and despite all the controversy surrounding her, she said that she doesn't feel the pressures of having to top her past efforts when she works on new material. "I suppose it could put a lot if I try to outrun it, if I tried to outdo it, like, each time I did something and my next project, 'I gotta out do this.' And then I did my next project, 'I gotta out do that,' and then I did my next project, 'I gotta out do that.' I don't think that way--I think about doing quality work."

Janet and Justin - an item it seems

At one time not so long ago Janet Jackson was a shy, sweet and innocent young woman who wasn't in the spotlight much where her private life is concerned but alas since then there's been a secret marriage, controversially sexy videos, body piercing and now it's been reported that she's dating young stud - N' Sync's Justin Timberlake.  The new romantic pair is said to have hooked up at a birthday party for rapper Missy Elliot recently and an unnamed source claimed, "Janet and Justin just started making out in front of everyone. It's like they wanted the whole place to know."

Justin is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut solo album and Janet recently appeared on Beenie Man's latest single 'Feel it, Boy' but has no immediate plans to go back in the studio. Sources say the relationship is not 'exclusive' and there has also been reports that links Justin one of Janet's dancers .

Monica's self-titled set a personal statement.

For an artist writing songs can happen in the strangest places. From airplanes to toilets and the lattter holds true for young singer/songwriter now turned actress Monica Best (aka Monica). Said Monica 'Strangely enough, that's where it happens for me, I'll be sitting in there in my own world and I'm singing, and then I come out and when the pen touches the paper, it doesn't stop until I'm done."

Monica wrote or co-wrote all but three of the songs on her third album, Monica, due August 20. Her bathroom sessions yielded intensely personal material, beginning with her first composition, fittingly titled "I Wrote This Song."

The ballad, produced by longtime collaborators Soulshock and Karlin, is about witnessing her ex-boyfriend commit suicide. "To talk about it first made [writing] the other songs a cool breeze, like a day on the beach or something," Monica explained during a break in filming the video for her first single, "All Eyez on Me." "I'm extremely strong, and I feel like he left me here to be responsible for certain things, whether it is his daughter or whether it was to teach me certain things. And I don't cry anymore. I put things in a better perspective. I make positive out of the negative."

The debut single will be 'All eyez on me' carved after the late Tupac Shakur's release of the same name. Other notables include 'Searching for the answers', 'U should of known' and 'Cry no more'. The album is due out August 20th
