Nona Gaye will take over Aaliyah's role in 'The Matrix: Reloaded'

R&B singer Nona Gaye, the daughter of the legendary late but great Marvin Gaye will take over the role that the late Aaliyah Naughton was playing in the upcoming Matrix sequel 'The Matrix: Reloaded'. As most of you know Aaliyah, the singer and actress was killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas last August after finishing up a video shoot there.

The role she was playing Zee was awarded to Nona after a lengthy re-auditioning process in which Nona was chosen. Funny enough I don't recall Nona doing any acting before last year's 'Ali' (which she wasn't bad in) so this should be interesting. Shooting is already in progress in Australia.

Former R-Kelly protégé Sparkle claims girl in video is her neice

Can it be? is it true? It's getting to the point that you don't know what to believe but the young lady in question on the alleged  R-Kelly's sex video tape is none other than Sparkle's niece. The former protégé of the man discussed the ordeal last Wednesday (April 3) on KKBT (The Beat) in LA.

Sparkle, who is the aunt who turned over the sex tapes to authorities in Chicago, said that the public has placed more attention on Kelly than on her niece, who was 14 years old at the time the tape was made. "People want to say, 'That's not R. Kelly,' but what about my niece?" Sparkle told the radio station

The traumatic experience has caused a division in Sparkle's family, since some family members didn't want the case to go public. Sparkle believes some cases may be settled out of court. "There has been a couple cases that have come to light so that they would not go to criminal court," she said. "But there are others that haven't been spoken of that have possibly been paid off." Still, she feels that the authorities have substantial evidence against R. Kelly. "I believe that they have a lot that they are actually going to bring to light," she said. "But as of right now, it's still being investigated, and until the powers that be come say, 'indict him for whatever whatever,' it's still just an investigation." As to what's comes next one has to wait and see. The case is still under investigation

Missy Elliot's Tweet protégé drops debut set

Missy Elliot's latest protégé R&B singer Tweet (born: Charlene Keys) released her debut albumTuesday (April 2nd) called 'Southern Hummingbird' on Missy's imprint Goldmine records distributed through Elektra.

The newest member to the Missy Elliot/Timberland fold more than held her own with the big guns as her album debuted at No.3 on the current issue of Billboard's Top 200 Album charts, only to be out done by another female newcomer in the 1st lady of Murder Inc - Ashanti (born: Ashanti Douglas). Not to be bothered though as the church influenced songstress is very happy just making it there.

The lead off single 'Opps (oh my) is a top 20 hit on the Billboard R&B charts and the 15 song set is filled with tracks ranging from emotion to heartbreak to love so if that's up your alley then I suggest you get yourself a copy..
