Joi states that she's 'Missing you'

Thandie Newton? Y no - it's JoiJoi returns to the neo-soul music arena with new record called 'Missing you ' her 1st single for her new label Universal. The Thandie Newton look-a-like who replaced Dawn Robinson in the super R&B group Lucy Pearl has already released 3 albums to her credit but none of which has gained mainstream notoriaty or sales.

The Nashville native who's father is the late but great and 1st black NFL quarterback Joe Gilliam has a new album on the horizon called 'Star Kitty's Revenge' that will hit stores  Mar. 19th. The single has the neo vibe going for it with a wicked bass line to boot it has the potential to be big. Already being serviced to radio be sure to tune into my show where you'll hear it being played frequent and often.

Michael Jackson's songwriting team ventures out w/debut release

Michael Jackson's songwriting team
Floetry, (comprising London's Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart) who penned the
Michael Jackson hit "
Butterflies," is scheduled to release its
debut album,
Floetics,  June 4 on A Touch Of Jazz/DreamWorks.

In addition, the duo--who met playing basketball together has also composed songs for the likes of Jill Scott, Glenn Lewis, and Bilal.
Thier first single, which is the title cut is expected to hit radio on March 12.

"Floetics" is a term the artists penned to describe their combination of singing and spoken word. "It's spoken word, but I rhyme too," said Stewart, "Marsha sings and we're not caught up with egocentric creativity. We're not trying to be Natalie Stewart and Marsha Ambrosius. We're more into mood of music and creating moments. It's exciting because each song is like a little play, miniseries, itself."

The group is produced by the Misfits, whose members have made songs for Will SmithLil' Kim, Darius Rucker, Musiq Soulchild, Kenny Lattimore and Cherokee, among others.

Brandy's got a bun in the oven

Expected Mom - BrandyCan you say Mommy dear? Just weeks after announcing that she had indeed tied the knot to her producer Robert Smith last summer, it's now being reported that the singer/actress is expecting her first child come July. The proud parents to be are thrilled at the news and said Brandy 'We're so happy and excited, I've always wanted children and look forward to being a mom.''

Not that pregnancy is going to slow her down at all; in March, she's releasing a new album, 'Full Moon ', followed by tours of Japan and Canada. ''Being pregnant doesn't mean life stops, it means life begins,'' she says. ''I will continue to work before and after. As you so well know, I have been multi-tasked for years, I've learned the art very well.'' Not everyone in the family is so sanguine. Smith's cousin, top R&B producer Rodney Jerkins, tells Vibe magazine, ''I pray that everything works out for the best for them, but I don't know if they're truly in love.''
