Happy 2002 everyone - it's here

Happy New Year everyone (both young and old). I hope all of you had a cracking time on the last and first days respectively. Hard to believe that 2002 is already upon us (I still remember the big hoopla about the millennium is coming and how the computers would go berserk - what do I know)

Well on the site this year I hope to finally get the listening station up and running. I'm also looking to get a video section going also. On the agenda as well is a revamped section for testimonials and comments as well as some other bits and pieces so do visit when you can

New Anita Baker album delayed further still

The much delayed Atlantic Records debut from Anita Baker has hit another setback recently as the Detroit native ended up filing suit in the US District Court in Detroit against the Zomba Recording Corp. and its Dreamhire division,

Ms. Baker alleges they supplied her with a 24-track tape recording machine that supposedly left popping noises all over the tracks that she'd been recording and despite all attempts to save the music she's had to start the project all over again. No date has been set for the forthcoming release so again one has to wait and see

Jody Watley to appear at the infamous 'London Jazz Cafe'

In a word 'Beautiful' - Miss Jody WatleyLovely lass Jody Watley is scheduled to do two live shows at London's infamous 'Jazz Cafe' in Camden Town. She will appear on February 21st and 22nd.

The former lead singer of Shalamar will no doubt be cranking out the hits from her days with Shalamar as well as solo hits including the house gem of 2000 'I love to love' featuring Roy Ayers. A show not to be missed here as she is excellent live so all of you lucky sods in London check her out (you won't be disappointed).

New Donnie album is finally completed

Atlanta's own Donnie JohnsonDonnie (aka Donnie Johnson) has finished recording his debut called ''The Coloured Section' on Giant Steps. The Atlanta native worked with famed producer Steve Harvey on the album that is due late this spring. '

The album will not feature the much talked about duet with his mate India Arie because of scheduling difficulties (India's out on tour at the moment and couldn't make the time) - but it promises to be filled with great lyrics and terrific tracks all round.

The LA based Harvey has also revealed he's working on an act he describes as like 'Rufus meets Bobby Womack' more on that as details are released.
