Jon B set to release new set 'Pleasures you like'

Smooth soul man Jon B returns to the limelight after a 4 year absence with his latest release 'Pleasures you like ' (YabYum/Sony). The first single will be 'Don't Talk ' which has already surfaced on some internet radio station's format across the globe (including my own on 'The Menu' on mixx96fm.com). John's last set 'Cool Relax' gave us the Top 10 hit single 'They don't know ' and featured an array of guest artists including the late Tupac Shakur, Toni Estes and Marc Nelson

Jon serves as songwriter and co-producer this time around (he wrote all the songs as well as co-producing duties) and said "this album I think is some of my best work I hope everyone likes it". Pleasures you like is set to be released March 27..

Temptations set to tour the UK with an 8 date engagement

The Legendary Temptations who shines as one of the most enduring and beloved soul groups in history is touring the UK for the first time in 5 years. The Temps 1998 album 'Phoenix Rising' was recently certified platinum selling 1,000,000 copies....  "We've still been in the record business, maybe not in this part of the world, but hopefully we're here now to open that gate back up," Temptation member Ron Tyson told Billboard.com and loyal music fans have responded as their recently released two-CD retrospective "At Their Very Best " (Universal Music TV) is selling and steadily climbing up the UK and US charts

They will start their performing  (Feb. 2) in Bradford, in the north of England, then on to the Palladium in London, and then conclude the tour at the Wimbledon Theater in South London on Tuesday Feb 6th.

'Perfection' is on the way from vibe master Roy Ayers

Simply call him 'the master of the vibe'. Jazz-funk maestro Roy Ayers returns at long last with a body of new material that is set to be released this March. The new album called 'Perfection' is the 1st studio album in 2 years for Mr. Ayers since 1999's Smooth Jazz (AFI). Fans worldwide (myself included) was curious as to when the man would drop something in the way of new material and although he's been busy doing guest appearances with Jill Scott, Eric Benet and most recently Jody Watley you just felt that the man should be out with a new disc.

No word yet on what the first single will be or how many tracks are on the album but I'll keep you posted, as soon as I know you'll know

UK'S newest export 'Fly by Nature' is flying high

For years the UK has stemmed some of the freshest and finest soul soul acts to cross the pond Loose - nds, Soul ll Soul, Omar, Incognito, Brand New Heavies and most recently Craig David, Hil St Soul and Lewis Taylor to name a few. Now you can add newcomers Fly by Nature to the list as well as they gear to take over the world literally (via the internet).

The buzz across the internet cyber waves  is that the 6 member band is gaining quite a following at their live shows in London and the internet has been really kind to them as more and more stations are catching on to their music. The Band consists of  Bernadette Powell - vocals,
Serge Heselton - Guitar, James Hughes - Keyboards, Rob Waisome - Drums, Rob Van Den Hoek - Saxophone and Roy Williamson - guitar and founder of the group. Getting radio attention is 'Unnatural Rhythm ', 'I must be a fool ' and 'I'm free '  If you can, catch them live the last Sunday of ea. month at the Ion Bar, Ladbroke Grove in London.

Whitney's 'pot bust' takes a surprising twist

Prosecutors in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, want a judge to set aside a court-approved agreement that allows for the dismissal of a marijuana-possession case against pop diva Whitney Houston if she meets certain conditions put to her. The Hawaii County prosecutor's office says Houston did not submit a substance-abuse assessment in time for a hearing on Feb 1st to determine whether she has complied with the agreement.

Houston, who did not attend the hearing pleaded no contest through her lawyers on Nov 2nd to promoting a detrimental drug in the 3rd degree. The offence is punishable by up to 30 days and a $1000 fine

The misdemeanor charge stemmed from an incident Jan 11 of last year at the Big Island's Keahole-Kona International Airport where a security guard took her handbag and police reported that she had 1/2 an ounce of marijuana in it. Security personnel tried to detain her but Whitney went and boarded her flight.
