The music world shocked by the events of the terrorist attack

A Boeing 767 crashes into the WTC D - day 1944, the day America was under attack from the enemy came full circle last Tuesday when two boeing 767 airplanes hijacked by Afghanistan rebels deliberately crashed into the World Trade Center buildings reducing both buildings to mountains of rubbles and leaving hundreds maybe even thousands dead. Also falling under the same circumstances was the Pentagon in Washington D.C. where another 767 crashed into the side of the building

Superstars of the music industry has come together to donate time and effort as well as money to various charitable organizations to help in the relief fund for the children who's loved ones was perished in the deadly disaster. Dr Dre, Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson among others are just a few of the many big names contributing.

This senseless act of horror has awaken us all about our safety in airports, our surroundings and our every day lives, makes us more suspicious of a distant person in our rear view mirror or the person next to you on a bus or train. The music industry has shown tremendous patriotism in canceling new releases of albums and concerts in various major cities across the US. With the images still fresh in our minds of the attack, the hardest part for us all is to keep moving forward and become whole again which I'm sure both Americans and America will do without fault. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks

Newcomer Mystic gives her music just that

She is a young lass who's name you will soon hear alot of. Originating from Oakland, CA, this young hip-hop singer known only as Mystic merges really tight rhymes fueled by poetry and a beautiful sexy singing voice to boot as well.

Signed to the Goodvibe label which includes Slum Village and Bahamadia -- she worked with a cast of respected underground hip-hop producers including Shock-G, Adam F and Manifest to bring forth her debut album, Cuts for Luck and Scars for Freedom. A delightful album that is reminisce of an MC Lyte or Queen Latifan. She took part in the summer 2001 Tree of Life tour with her label mates to promote the album.

Philip Bent - a soul star in the making

A talented act - Philip ClarkOne listen form this young man's debut release "The State of Blue Eyed Soul" had me sold and to think that he's not yet discovered by the general public (but don't worry because he will be if I have anything to say about it).

Philip who hails from New York (the sight of the terrible tragedy of last Sept 11th) truly shines on this set with delightful tracks like '20 days', 'It's only love' and 'Romeo and Juliet'. Every track is a winner in my eyes here and I'm sure they will be with you too. No domestic release or major label deal but shouldn't be too far behind. CHECK OUT Philip Clark - a soul star in the making.

Miami mourns the loss of DJ Uncle Al.

It's a sad week all round as Miami mourns the loss of one of their own in Albert Moss aka DJ Uncle Al. Uncle Al was shot and killed last weekend (Sept 9th) although friends say he was killed by mistake.

Moss, 31, died Monday after he answered the door of the duplex home he split with an other disc jockey. Three men opened fire, hitting him in the hip, arm and side. He died in surgery after being rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital. A friend of Moss, Roderick Lee, said the three assailants were looking for the other disc jockey _ whom authorities so far have identified only as Joe _ who lived in the other unit of the duplex. It seems that Joe was operating a hip hop pirate radio station from his apartment which was interfering with another pirate station's frequency.

Moss gained local fame as a guest jock on Luther Campbell's radio show with Miami radio station WEDR. He also mixed hundreds of original songs and produced nearly a dozen albums for the Miami bass scene, and mixed at underground radio stations and clubs.
