Michael Jackson's latest set for release this summer

Michael Jackson the King of Pop returns to the spotlight of the music world after a 5 year hiatus with his latest set that's yet to be titled. The street date is tentatively set for Sept 18th. The set was originally set to drop this past March but was push back due to sister Janet's latest release coming out this month.

The album has some of the finest producers in the industry working to bring Michael's stature into the forefront of the music world including R. Kelly, Rodney Jerkins and Teddy Riley. Insiders say that this could be some of Michael's finest work yet and may send turn the music world on it's ear once again. Stay tuned.....

Teena Marie's 'Black Rain' delayed yet again

'Lady T' aka Teena Marie latest release 'Black Rain' has been pushed back yet again due to legal difficulties of releasing the set on her own label. The latest news according to her website is that the album will be sold exclusively on the website which is www.teenamarie.com for the next few months while things get sorted out with the official release.

Rumor has it that the delay may have been caused by her wanting to add some more songs to the album including a duet with D'Angelo as well as a couple of hip hop influenced tracks. One can only hope that the official date is forthcoming and soon.

Soul Beach Musicfest Miami's hottest ticket in town.

I've been to a few concerts in my time some good and some bad but the Soul Beach Musicfest is that one concert that is promised to be the concert of the summer and should not be missed. Offering something for the young and old, Soul Beach Musicfest comes to my current residence of Miami, FL May 30th through June 3rd at the Orange Bowl Stadium.

The line up is not only impressive but is the who's who of the NeoSoul Era movement, just have a look who is scheduled to appear: Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Ron Isley and the Isley Bros, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, India Arie, Eric Benet (who recently married my girl Halle Berry), Musiq and the sweetheart of the new era soul Ms. Jill Scott.  More acts are pending so be sure to check the website (click the image).

You can get your tickets online at www.ticketmaster.com or at all Florida Ticketmaster ticket centers, including Peaches Music & Video, Spec's Music and Ricky's Records or CHARGE-BY-PHONE (305) 358-5885 in Dade (954) 523-3309 in Broward and (561) 966-3309 in Palm Beach county so unless you don't have a pulse, don't miss it promises to be the concert of the year (to date anyway).

Rap legend Rakim signs with Dr Dre's Aftermath label

He brought us the classic hit 'Paid in Full' alongside other classics including  'Follow the Leader', 'Move the Crowd' 'Don't sweat the technique' and 'Eric B for President' among others as part of Eric B and Rakim. Now the legendary Rakim has decided to leave MCA and sign with Dr Dre's Aftermath label. The move comes in light of Rakim's last 2 albums for MCA which literally came and went without anyone taking notice.

The new collaboration with Dre on production duties is due to drop this summer and I'm sure it will be one of the summer's hottest release so look out for it
