Justin Timberlake and Lionel Richie 'team up' for Motown 45

Pop's reigning prince teams up with one of pop's legendary performers but not in the way you might think. Justin Timberlake and Lionel Richie will host an ABC-TV special
celebrating the hit singles of the legendary record label Motown this coming May.

The special called Motown 45 will feature two hours of non-stop performances from legendary Motown acts like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles to name a few and will be taped at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

From its early beginnings in Detroit some 45 years ago, Motown has become the symbol of excellence in R&B and soul music around the globe, starting and nurturing the careers of such legends as The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Commodores and The Jacksons. The talent lineup for the tribute show is still being created, but will consist of a combination of legendary artists (as mentioned) and today's hit makers.

All proceeds from ticket sales to the event will be donated to the United Negro College Fund.
