Case sends an 'Open Letter' addressed to you

Def Soul recording artist Case returns with his latest set, "Open Letter," a collection of new material that will be forthcoming this summer. It's rumored that it was physically draining for him to record this album that he completely lost his voice after recording 'Missing You' but not to worry 'cos all his hard work has paid off as "Missing You" has risen to No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.

The album as a whole has some of the finest producers in the industry including
Tim and Bob, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and Shep Crawford, among others. Said Case "It was cool because everybody I worked with was on the same page,it didn't take a lot of time to get the songs together."

One track he's particularly fond of "
A Song for Skye." which he wrote for his young new born daughter Skye. "That's the most important song on the album because it's for my daughter she was at home with me, I heard the track, and the song just came out. I picked up a tape recorder and just started singing. When she gets old enough, she'll understand exactly how I felt about her then."

Toni Braxton makes her acting debut in 'Kingdom Come"

Ms. BraxtonOnce times were hard for Ms. Braxton who at one point was down on her luck, almost broke and endured going through bankruptcy proceedings. That was then and now she is financially stable, about to tie the knot to Mint Condition's front man Stokley and makes her big screen debut in the family oriented comedy 'Kingdom Come'.

She stars alongside some of the biggest names in the business including Whoopi Goldberg, Jada Pinckett Smith, Vivica A. Fox and LL Cool J. The film centers around the death of a family member and their coming together for the funeral. Although not a big role, she does have her moment in the sun and was delighted at the chance to have the opportunity

Jamie Hawkins self-titled debut set to be selved.

Rumor has it that the excellent self titled debut album from Jamie Hawkins will be put to pasture in the shelves of the Elektra vaults. Hard to believe that Elektra would want to do this especially since they just recently started promoting a new remix of 'Lost my mind'. The EP has been getting rave reviews from fans and critics alike across the board which makes it all the more puzzling as to why the studio heads came to such a decision (if indeed that is the case)

The EP has been shown a lot of love on my show (especially  'Tell me' and 'You're the one for me' so be sure to keep it logged to 'The Menu' www.mixx96fm.com where you will hear them frequent and often.
