Janet and Jermaine call it quits

Happier Times - Ben & Jen Janet and Jermaine, would you believe it. I honestly thought that this was a rumor about these two (and I'm not talking about her brother either). I'm talking about Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri.

Much in the same light as J-Lo and Ben Afflect, it's the kind of relationship in the industry that gets people buzzing and the one between Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson was definitely one on everyone’s lips. With the unlikely pairing now going their seperate ways, it would seem that Dupri was there for Janet while she was going through her divorce with Rene, but is now prime to get on with her life.

UK Mobo Awards to be handed out this week

The award ceremony circuit is in full swing. Yesterday saw the Emmy Awards handed out to to telly and cable actors and shows and on Thursday (September 25th), the Eighth Annual MOBO Awards will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Hosted by Lil' Kim and the recently exposed Blu Cantrell, the show will include live performances from Lumibee, reggae wonder boy Wayne Wonder, Mis-teeq, Big Brovas and Terri Walker.

Topping the nods this year with four each is Beyonce Knowles, the UK’s Big Brovaz and Terri Walker. This years nominees also includes sexy mama Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Terri Walker, Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent and Jay-Z.

It's one of the few award shows that actually is decided by public voting as the majority of the award winners are chosen by the public. Predictions anyone on who will triumph on the night?

New live set by Floetry will include new tracks and DVD

Following in the footsteps of Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, the R&B/singer/songwriting duo of Floetry will release a live set called 'Floetry Live', on the heels of their debut release 'Floetic' come November 18th.

The set will include four new songs and a bonus DVD of footage taken from a July show at the House of Blues in New Orleans and will feature a collaboration with rapper Mos Def, so reports MTV.com. Floetic, was recently certified gold and the group just released the third single from the set, 'Getting Late' which is garning steady rotation on radio stations across the board.

Group member Natalie Stewart explained why the group decided to release the live set: "We haven't really recorded since we made the album (Floetic)...in three weeks in 2000. Now we have an audience and we're putting these songs on there just to let everyone know what's happened in that space of time, and we're trying to get another album out in February."
