NY jock Angie Martinez confirms she is a mom-to-be

Having my baby - Angie MartinezAfter many rumors which has been circling in the grape wine for months, resident New York Hot 97 jock Angie Martinez confirmed last week that she is indeed expecting her first child come this summer. The pregnant mom-to-be had everyone playing the guessing game for months in speculation as to is she or isn't she (that indeed is the question)?

It's said that the father to be is none other than Nokio of Dru Hill fame. Unbeknown to most of us is the fact that they were an item but I'm sure we all wish her the best and to have a healthy child - period.

R. Kelly has another case brought against him

Another case pendin' - K. Kelly It seems that when it rains, it pours. R. Kelly is back in the spotlight again with another woman coming forward with the cry of harrasment. He has a hot new single ('Ignition'-rmx) steadily climbing the charts, it seemed everything is going to be alright, Chicago authorities said they found 12 photos of a nude girl at the singer's home and could now face up to five years each for the pictures.

R.Kelly's attourneys quickly played down the new charges, stating "At this point...it looks to us like a classic case of piling it on, in which a local jurisdiction tries to make headlines by attaching itself to a celebrity case. As far as we can tell, the charges all relate to R. Kelly's arrest last summer. In other words, there is nothing new here." Col. Grady Judd of the Polk County Sheriff's office would not say whether the minor in the digital photos was the same girl who appears in the videotape at the centre of the case in Chicago. Police said they'll continue to investigate before considering any additional charges

The Soul Train Awards just around the corner

The music awards season is in full swing and with the grammys taking place last night, the next event comes our way next weekend. Jennifer Lopez and R&B supergroup Dru Hill are the latest musical acts to be added to the lineup for the 17th Annual Soul Train Music Awards ceremony, which will be broadcast live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on March 1 at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, actor-comedians Chris Rock and Orlando Jones have also been confirmed to take part in the show. Lopez, Rock, and Jones will present awards, while Dru Hill will perform.

"The major stars now being confirmed as presenters represent delightful additions to our previously announced and quite spectacular performance lineup, including Mariah Carey, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Dru Hill, and much more," said the show's executive producer Don Cornelius.

Cornelius added, "We're extremely excited, overall, by the star power participating in this year's live show and we would rank J. Lo, Chris Rock, Orlando Jones, and the very smooth supergroup Dru Hill among the very hottest on our 2003 wish list!"

R&B singers Ashanti and Amerie lead the list of nominees for the 17th Annual Soul Train Music Awards. Each singer earned three nods, and the two will face off against each other in the Best Female R&B/Soul Single and Best Female R&B/Soul Album categories. Ashanti was also nominated in the R&B/soul or rap album of the year category, while Amerie got an additional nod in best R&B/soul or rap new artist category.

Several artists--including B2K, Justin Timberlake, Musiq, Nelly, and Floetry--each earned nominations in two categories. In addition, Nelly is slated to receive the 2003 Sammy Davis Jr. Award for entertainer of the year, while LL Cool J and Dionne Warwick will both receive the 2003 Quincy Jones Award for outstanding career achievements in the field of entertainment. The event will be hosted by Queen Latifah and Arsenio Hall.
